For years I’ve shared the joys of growing, cooking, and eating nourishing food at home. Now, a new adventure is on the horizon. In just over a year, we’ll be setting off on a bigger journey in our caravan (complete with a toy garage for the Farmtrek UTV!) – taking our love for good food, health, and family living on the road.
But why wait until then?
Starting this November, we’ll be taking short trips to test out caravan features, recipes, and road-friendly routines. Think of it as a warm-up lap before the main event. Along the way, I’ll be sharing the highs, lows, and lessons that come with cooking and living well in smaller spaces.
Why “On the Road with Mrs E”?
Because travelling food doesn’t have to be beige, bland, or barely nourishing. Despite the abundance of fresh, local produce we’re so lucky to have here in Australia, too often the roadside and travel options are nothing short of awful – deep-fried, sugary, and offering little in the way of true nutrition.
I believe we can do better.
On the Road with Mrs E will explore:
- The best foods to cook on the road – simple, adaptable recipes that work in a caravan kitchen.
- Campfire cooking – from one-pot wonders to clever ways of making hearty, nourishing meals outdoors.
- Rainy day cooking – comforting, healthy dishes perfect for when the weather keeps you inside.
- Nutrition without compromise – keeping meals balanced and gut-friendly, even when travelling.
- Flavour first – because healthy eating should never come at the cost of taste.
- Using local and seasonal produce – discovering fresh ingredients from markets and farms across Australia.
- Caravan hacks & gadgets – what’s worth packing, and what’s just extra weight.
- Destination stories – local flavours, markets, and food traditions discovered along the way.
The Journey Ahead
The big trip begins in a year’s time, but the fun starts now. From November, I’ll be sharing short-trip updates, testing recipes that travel well, and proving that healthy, nourishing food doesn’t have to be sacrificed when life hits the road.
So whether you’re a fellow traveller, a foodie with a taste for adventure, or simply someone who wants to eat better in everyday life, I’d love for you to follow along.
